Residential Scheme to start on site in New Year

Construction work will commence in early 2018 on the development of a new residential scheme at the old Fire Station site, Scarlet Street, Drogheda. We have been working with the North East Housing Association to deliver 15 new homes which will cater for families and the elderly. The concept was based on the tower house and courtyard, taking its cue from the existing uses of the site as a school and fire station.

The scheme works between the existing two and three storey scale dwellings surrounding the site and steps up to four storeys at the centre of the site, matching in height the existing fire station training tower. The project will improve the public realm along Scarlet Street by providing visual links to the mature parkland setting of Sienna Convent and places a new public realm at the heart of the plan. The external design of the development will contribute positively to the locality by providing a high quality design which is broken down in scale by the incorporation of terraces and loggias set within the overall form of the building, while at the same time utilising high quality materials to ensure the appearance of the building over time.
